Wachsman’s Dublin office had a jam-packed schedule in the month of April. Our staff put boots on the ground at a number of top-tier events around Europe, where they had an opportunity to showcase their unparalleled expertise at panel discussions, roundtables, and networking events.
Wachsman employees are not just incredible representatives for our company, but they’re also knowledgeable thought leaders in the industry as a whole. Below, we’d like to share a few of the many events that the Wachsman team visited in the month of April. We were honored to attend and we look forward to an exciting few months ahead. Next stop: Consensus!
BlockW Series 6
On April 9, Liam Murphy, PR Director for the Dublin office, spoke at Block W’s Series 6 event, entitled “What Makes a Successful Blockchain Startup?” Joined by a panel of esteemed blockchain professionals, including Angela Duffy (NDRC), Clodagh McCarthy Luddy (ExSilico), Anne Rothwell (Coinbase), Scott Hanson (Central Bank of Ireland), and Pete Townsend (Norio Ventures), Liam provided insightful strategies for how to build a budding company within such a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. Sponsored by Blockchain Hub and Top Tier Recruitment, BlockW’s sixth event marks a continuation in the group’s goal to build awareness around career opportunities in the blockchain sector. It was a pleasure to be there. If you’re interested in attending the seventh series, RSVP here.
Dublin Tech Summit
On April 10, just one day after BlockW, Wachsman travelled to Dublin Tech Summit (DTS), a two-day global conference that sits at the heart of the tech scene. With 10,000 attendees and 200 speakers from 70 countries, DTS has become an attractive platform for the world’s leading brands to accelerate growth within the Irish market. It was a must-attend event for Wachsman and staff from the Dublin office were on the ground to support both our company and our clients.
Also on the ground was our very own CEO David Wachsman, who moderated a fantastic panel with Jordan Fried (Hedera Hashgraph), Zeeshan Feroz (Coinbase), Amanda Gutterman (ConsenSys), and Eric Demuth (BitPanda). The panel discussed the importance of bringing blockchain to the masses, and David asked topical questions about how to make the dream of decentralization a reality.
From April 11 to 15, Wachsman attended the third annual Odyssey Hackathon, attracting roughly 1,500 attendees to the Sugar Factory in Groningen, The Netherlands. Over the course of 48 hours, 100 teams worked to build new prototypes designed to address societal problems that exist along 12 distinct “tracks.” Bringing such an inspiring group of innovators together to discuss topical updates in the industry is no small feat, and Wachsman staff was onsite ready to support such an inspiring event. The Netherlands is quickly emerging as a blockchain hub in Europe and Wachsman was proud to help solidify our presence there.
Paris Blockchain Week
Wachsman closed out an already action-packed two weeks with Paris Blockchain Week, the biggest blockchain and digital asset meetup in Europe. On April 16 and 17, developers, investors, and enthusiasts from around the world gathered in the City of Light for a diverse selection of meetups, keynotes, workshops, hackathons, and more. Also at the event was CEO David Wachsman, who moderated a panel entitled, “Old vs. New: Is it Time for an Infrastructure Inversion?” alongside Alex Mashinsky (Celsius Network), Naveed Ihsanullah (Algorand), Anuj Das Gupta, and Raphael Ouzan (BlockNation). The lively and thought-provoking discussion centered around the current state of our global infrastructure, and how blockchain could be a solution to many of the problems currently impacting society today.
